Fuel Injector
easy DIY~0.5h jobWhat it does
A fuel injector is a tiny electronically controlled valve that pulses open and closed many times per second, spraying a precise mist of fuel into the engine's air stream. Each cylinder has its own injector. The nozzle opening is barely the size of a pinhead — so tiny that even small deposits of fuel varnish (from heat-soaked fuel sitting in a parked hot engine) can partially clog it. A clogged injector sprays too little fuel or sprays it as a stream rather than a mist, causing a rough-running cylinder and a hesitation when you accelerate.
