Fuel Filter
easy DIY~1h jobWhat it does
The fuel filter is like a screen door for your fuel — it traps dirt, rust flakes, and sediment from the gas tank before they can reach and clog your fuel injectors. Over thousands of miles, this screen gets clogged. When it's partly blocked, less fuel gets through to the engine, especially at high speeds when fuel demand is greatest. The car feels sluggish, struggles on hills, and may stall. Ignore it long enough and the fuel pump burns itself out trying to push fuel through a clogged filter — turning a $20 fix into a $400+ fuel pump job.
