Battery Cables

easy DIY~0.5h job

What it does

Battery cables are the thick electrical wires that carry massive amounts of current from the battery to the starter and the rest of the car. They're often overlooked until they become covered in white or blue-green corrosion — that crusty buildup acts like electrical resistance, choking the current flow. Even a good battery can't deliver full power through corroded cables, causing the exact same clicking-but-no-start as a dead battery. The fix is often $8 in baking soda and a wire brush.
